AGS CARES: Surgical Glaucoma Care Program

What is AGS Cares?
AGS Cares is a public service program supported by the AGS Foundation. The program provides surgical glaucoma care at no cost to uninsured or underserved patients who qualify for such care.

AGS Cares addresses a major unmet need for glaucoma care among U.S. patients with limited financial resources. The program connects such patients with volunteer surgeons. They can provide the surgical and postoperative care you need. Their care helps prevent disease progression and blindness.

Who provides care?
The glaucoma care is provided by glaucoma surgeons who are AGS members and have volunteered for our national network.

Why do the AGS and doctors do this?
This is a chance for the AGS and our glaucoma experts to give back to the community through a meaningful program.

How is AGS Cares supported?
The program receives ongoing support from corporate sponsors and other donors. Their support helps cover some of the surgical costs. Volunteer physicians are supported either directly by the AGS Foundation or through their own institution’s patient assistance program.
