  •  Position is a Full-Time 1.0 FTE, working 75% in Pleasanton, CA and 25% in Fremont, CA

Board eligibility/board certification in Ophthalmology and completion of a glaucoma fellowship is required. This position will also have opportunity to develop an independent research program. Multiple research opportunities are available in collaboration with The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice, the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, and the Thayer School of Engineering. The successful candidate will be engaged in the clinical and surgical teaching of ophthalmology residents as well as medical students. They will be eligible for an academic appointment through the Geisel School of Medicine at a rank commensurate with qualifications.

The Department of Ophthalmology at the Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center supports a large health system providing both primary and tertiary care. The advertised position is responsible for direct patient care and supervision at our downtown VCU Health campus and satellite locations. Excellent diagnostic and surgical skills are required. The department supports a 16 resident ophthalmology training program with a full 5-year ACGME Accreditation. Appointment at the level of Assistant, Associate, or full Professor is available commensurate with experience.
