The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Science at the Yale School of Medicine seeks an outstanding Vitreoretinal-trained Ophthalmologist to serve as the Chief of the Division of Vitreoretinal Surgery. The candidate must be eligible for appointment as an Associate Professor or Professor at the Yale University School of Medicine. The Division Chief will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of patient care, leading and expanding the clinical footprint of the research division, mentoring of other faculty, and developing faculty and staff while fostering a collaborative environment. Additionally, the Chief will play a key role in curriculum development, teaching medical students, residents, and fellows, and enhancing the division's national and international reputation. The division of vitreoretinal surgery currently has 7 clinical faculty members, and interacts with our research division which has additional faculty devoted to bench research in retinal disorders, including retinal physiology, stem cells, tissue culture and animal models of retinal degenerations, and understanding basic pathological mechanism including molecular switches in tumor metastasis, retinal signaling in neovascular retinal disorders, and socioeconomics of retinal diseases in vulnerable populations. The division chief will lead efforts to integrate the clinical and research efforts of the division and be tasked with propelling this section of the department forward to increasing national prominence. 
 
The department has a long-standing tradition of excellence in clinical care and research in multiple subspecialty areas of ophthalmology. Our faculty provides clinical services for patients at Yale Medicine Ophthalmology and the West Haven Veterans Affairs Hospital. We have a strong and competitive residency program, which consists of 15 residents, along with two fellowship programs. The Department is affiliated with the Yale New Haven Health System, a growing healthcare system including Yale-New Haven Hospital, Bridgeport Hospital, Greenwich Hospital, and Lawrence and Memorial Hospital. We have outpatient offices in New Haven, Guilford, Norwalk, Madison, Waterford, Greenwich, and Stratford. The Department is expanding into Fairfield County, New London County, and beyond. Our department is growing, with plans to double its clinical and academic footprint over five years, adding multiple new clinical and research faculty members to coincide with this geographic expansion.

Endeavor Health's state-of-the art Eye and Vision Center is the largest multi-specialty Ophthalmology group on the north shore of Chicago. The Medical Group utilizes Epic for medical records.  Our Ophthalmic clinic equipment includes HFA units, Spectralis and Cirrus OCT, Ellex SLT / YAG lasers, PASCAL retina laser system, Optos fundus cameras, Goldmann Visual Field and IOL Master 700.  Our surgery center, located at Glenbrook hospital, is equipped with Centurion phacoemulsification machines, ORA intraoperative aberrometry system, Zeiss Artevo microscopes with Callisto and Intraoperative OCT capabilities.
 
 
 
The ideal candidate would be board certified or board eligible in Ophthalmology with excellent clinical and surgical skills, an ability to connect with patients, and a desire to teach Ophthalmology residents, interns, and medical students.  Clinical research is also encouraged but not required.  The appropriate academic appointment will be provided based on the candidate’s qualifications.  The position would entail Comprehensive and Glaucoma clinic responsibilities primarily at two of our locations.  The call for the clinic and the emergency department is evenly distributed among colleagues.

Other responsibilities may include resident and/or fellow supervision at our county hospital, Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital, which is central to and the primary location of our education programs. 
 
This is an academic track with the potential for tenure. Appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level will be determined in accordance with experience.
 
Qualifications:
 
Applicants should have completed fellowship training or equivalent in glaucoma, be board certified/eligible in ophthalmology, and be eligible for a medical license in the state of Texas.

The Cullen Eye Institute of Baylor College of Medicine is seeking a full-time faculty member to join our Glaucoma Service at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Professor.  The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background and have passionate interest in research or teaching.   Applicants must be board eligible or certified and have completed a formal fellowship in glaucoma.  Primary responsibilities for this position will include clinical, educational, and research duties at the Cullen Eye Institute and affiliated hospitals.  There will be ample teaching and training opportunities with residents, medical students, and clinical glaucoma fellows. Loma Linda University Faculty Medical Group, Department of Ophthalmology, is seeking a BC Ophthalmologist fellowship trained in Glaucoma Surgery to join our full-time group of ophthalmic subspecialties and generalists as the Glaucoma Service Director. Ideal candidates will currently be at the academic rank of Associate Professor or eligible for promotion to Associate Professor level. Responsibilities include patient care, resident teaching and supervision, medical student teaching, coverage and call for subspecialty members, service level meetings, recruitment strategy and other service items. This includes the development and oversight of a Glaucoma fellowship.
 
 
 
We have a very busy group practice with satellite locations in Riverside, Banning, Rancho Cucamonga, and San Bernardino in addition to our main location in Loma Linda. Our group provides professional services at the Riverside University Health System as well, where we have an active resident training program. Our facilities are equipped with the most up to date equipment needed for diagnostic purposes. In the last 12-month period, as a group we had close to 60,000 billed visits.
