The MCW Department of Ophthalmology is seeking an academically oriented glaucoma specialist to join the faculty at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. This is an open-rank, full-time position in a clinician-educator track.

The position’s clinical activity is primarily undertaken at the Froedtert & Medical College of Wisconsin Eye Institute and possibly one or two half-days per week at satellite clinics; however, ophthalmology faculty members also provide clinical coverage at the Children’s Wisconsin, Froedtert Hospital, and Zablocki Veterans Administration Medical Center, and ample opportunities to teach Ophthalmology residents. The eye and vision group on campus is a physician led department consisting of 36 physicians, nine optometrists, and five research PhD’s.

Successful candidates should bring strong clinical abilities, well-refined interpersonal skills, enthusiasm, and commitment to MCW’s academic missions. Candidates must be board Certified/Eligible by the American Board of Ophthalmology, completion of Glaucoma Fellowship program, eligible for medical licensure in Wisconsin, and an interest in clinical or basic science research is desirable and could be supported with start-up.

The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Neurosciences at the University of Minnesota seeks a full-time, board-certified/eligible Ophthalmologist with fellowship training in glaucoma to join our dynamic, growing team. Academic rank to be determined by qualifications.
The department includes over 40 faculty members across all ophthalmology subspecialties, including two other Glaucoma Ophthalmologists. The practice is based at the University of Minnesota, with potential opportunities at one or two affiliated sites in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, a metropolitan region with a population of over 3 million. The department enjoys state-of-the-art technology for imaging, laser treatments, and diagnostics and a top-ranked Clinic and Surgery Center that opened in 2016.
There will be opportunities for clinical research, as well as supervising, mentoring, and teaching medical students, residents, and fellows, including curriculum development responsibilities. The successful candidate will engage in research projects and academic activities, either independently or in collaboration, with the goal of securing external research funding. About the Department:

Pay and Benefits:
This role is dually employed by University of Minnesota Physicians and the University of Minnesota. Total salary is market competitive and based on AAMC salary benchmarks. Clinical salary, aligned with clinical effort, is provided through M Physicians. The base salary range for this position is $325,000 - $492,450 commensurate with experience, qualifications, and cFTE.  The salary from the University is dependent upon the academic effort of the person hired.

Glaucoma Consultants is a high-volume private practice in the Baltimore suburbs dedicated to providing personalized, compassionate, and exceptional glaucoma care. The surgeon position will partner with a well-respected glaucoma specialist who has been practicing for 19 years at Virginia Mason. The position requires a clinic one or two days per week at one of our regional medical centers, 2-3 clinic days per week in Seattle, and one or more OR days per week.

A fellowship trained candidate is essential. The ideal candidate will be proficient in complex cataract and glaucoma surgery. We welcome applicants interested in clinical trials. Virginia Mason provides support via the Benaroya Research Institute.

This is a unique opportunity to work in a busy, hospital-based practice alongside specialists with diverse and complex patient panels. The Seattle clinic is the hub of the ophthalmology service line and sets the tone for a large group practice. The surgeon hired for the glaucoma specialist position can expect approximately a 50/50 glaucoma and cataract surgery volume as they build their own unique practice. They will have the facilities to perform MIGS, filtering surgery, and glaucoma drainage device placement.

Nighttime on-call duties rotate every eighth week. Virginia Mason Medical Center enjoys a well-earned regional and national reputation as a tertiary referral center for the Pacific Northwest. Clinical research opportunities are available due to our diverse patient population. There are also teaching opportunities with Virginia Mason interns and residents.

The downtown Seattle clinic has a wonderfully diverse patient base due to the many sub-specialty providers working together in the department. The ophthalmic team, 21 in all, includes 16 ophthalmic assistants with a range of experience and backgrounds, one optician/contact lens specialist, three surgery schedulers, and two receptionists. Our team includes three optometrists, all of whom triage complex/urgent cases and perform routine eye exams.

This pay range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. It does not include all components of the School of Medicine's faculty compensation program or pay from participation in departmental incentive compensation programs.

Job Title: Partner-Track Glaucoma Ophthalmologist

Overview: Midwest Eye Care, the largest eye care provider in Omaha, NE, is searching for a highly skilled glaucoma surgeon to join our expanding team. With 11 MDs and 8 ODs, including fellowship-trained specialists in retina, cornea, neuro-ophthalmology, and glaucoma, our practice has served the Omaha community for over seven decades. This position offers a unique opportunity for a talented individual to join our thriving, physician-owned, multispecialty practice and pursue a partner track. Position Summary: As a Partner-Track Glaucoma Surgeon, you will work alongside two experienced glaucoma surgeons, diagnosing and treating glaucoma patients both surgically and therapeutically. You will also contribute to comprehensive ophthalmology care, including cataract surgery, with the majority of cases performed at our surgery center. There are opportunities to provide care in surrounding communities and participate in a unique city-wide call system, ensuring excellent coverage while maintaining work-life balance. Key Responsibilities: • Conduct comprehensive glaucoma evaluations and diagnostic tests. • Develop personalized treatment plans for patients with glaucoma. • Perform glaucoma surgeries, cataract surgery, and premium lens services. • Provide post-operative care and follow-up for surgical patients. • Stay current with advancements in glaucoma treatment and contribute to practice growth. • Participate in practice-wide on-call coverage, including rotating weekday, weekend, and holiday shifts. Call Schedule: • Anterior segment doctors cover approximately three weeknights per month and 8-9 weekends per year, including one holiday weekend. • Option to participate in a paid city-wide on-call rotation, covering a group of local hospitals.

Qualifications:

  • Medical degree from an accredited institution.
  • Residency training in ophthalmology and fellowship training in glaucoma surgery.
  • Board certification or eligibility for the American Board of Ophthalmology.
  • State medical license in Nebraska and Iowa (or eligibility). • Excellent clinical and surgical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities. • Commitment to high-quality patient care.
